Yes I haven't posted for more then a month. Again.
Dear John Creed or anyone else from Westwind who cares: DON'T WORRY! I have the checklist post coming ASAP. I plan to post it before the end of the month. I have put together Maxwell's part of the post, and it's "safely" saved as a draft to the blogger cloud of data.
My crazy life has gotten in the way of school. Again.
One fun thing about my craziness was hosting a wedding at our house.
As for other crazy stuff, I can't really talk about in a public forum, but I'll just say this awesome person is Super Girl.
And there was easter. Check out these cute photos of Daniel as a two year old and as a 9 year old. LOVE IT!
And everyone else had fun too.
But we were sick. Blah. It lasted for at least a week. Blah. Here we are finally getting out of the house, but being too sick to enjoy an amazing blue lagoon.
Then is was Daniel's Birthday! He got roller blades, and EVERYONE has been fighting over them, thankfully we got two sets.
Then the other kids that are here at our house are on holiday between school terms, so it's REALLY been a full house.
And like always, we're working on the house to get it ready to sell, and I just have to say how proud of Maxwell I am. He's always at Dustin's side, doing plumbing, electrical, and word working, and the other day, I saw him changing the plug on an extension cord by HIMSELF!
I have no idea how to do that! It was a testament to me that homeschool works...sometimes lol.
SCIENCE
We had some Entomologists visit us from BYU. We took them on an adventure, but they mostly wanted to look under logs for bugs LOL!
We also finished learning about sound and sound waves and pitch etc. We used a slinky that I brought from Canada as part of this lesson and they LOVED that.
SOCIAL STUDIES
We're still having tons of Vanuatu experiences, like finding huge shells on non-touristy beaches.
This one is quite small compared to some, but Abraham found this all by himself!
Also, we're learning about Westward Expansion. We started this unit out by talking about the Trail of Tears and Chief Joseph as well. We made dream catchers as our activity.
We have also been learning about pioneers. Obviously we've focused on the Mormon Pioneers. I have more planned, so pictures are pending.
MATH
I promise that my checklist post will have all the math anyone would ever wish for.
LANGUAGE ARTS
Here's Daniel going out on a date to celebrate finishing Barton book 5.
Again, the checklist post will supply more than enough Language arts examples.
But I DO have to say that we're reading the Fablehaven series as a family, and the kids BEG me to read it DURING THE DAY instead of just as they're in bed, and Hyrum is asking me definitions of words non stop. I love it.
